For Steven Tapper, designing a piece of jewelry is kind of like writing a story – the process has a beginning, a middle, and a conclusion.

At the beginning of a design project, Steven will take time to talk with the client and get a real sense of which direction to take.  “When I design a new piece of jewelry, I take some time to think about the person who will be wearing the piece.  Each piece of jewelry has its own personality, which ideally reflects the style and soul of the owner.”

Once his sketches are approved by the client, Steven provides detailed direction to our master jewelers in how to create the unique piece, and he oversees each step of the process.  It is an exciting day indeed when Steven is able to present the finished piece for the very first time.

“I want to create a piece of jewelry that will be enjoyed today, next year, and for generations to come,” Steven says.  “If a piece of jewelry can stand the test of time, it makes the transition to heirloom.  I believe that is what most clients are looking for when they come to me, and it is certainly my goal.
