After years of working as a jeweler, Jay Strongwater has revived the
bejeweled object, or "jewels for the home," as the designer describes his
creations. Jay Strongwater thinks like a jeweler whether he's working on a
frame, wine stopper or keepsake box. He knows how to set the Swarovski crystals
he uses for the right sparkle, and he is always looking for ways to enrich the
patterns of the hand-enameling.
"With jewelry, the clasp has to be as beautiful as the necklace," says Strongwater. "I feel the same way about everything from box hinges to picture frame stands." Indeed, the back of a Jay Strongwater creation is every bit as magnificent as the front, allowing for a 360 degree experience of beauty when choosing the right location in your home for one of his stunning pieces.
